I hope everyone had a great weekend and hopefully got to listen to some of the conference sessions!
I wanted to send along a few ideas where girls can work on Personal Progress goals if they listened to conference. The 2 week break is also a GREAT time to work on Personal Progress, especially if you are traveling and girls have time in the car to go through their books! For those who already earned their medallions, they can still use the ideas to help then study the words of wisdom given by our church leaders.
If girls listened to all sessions, including the YW Broadcast, they can use this for one of the 10 hour projects.
Faith
Faith
Faith #1: After reading some scriptures, you are asked to find and read two general conference talks on faith. During conference, take notes on what the speakers say about faith. If your conference experience is a little chaotic, you could try to make a note of at least two talks to reference later. See this link to get all the requirements for Faith #1.
Divine Nature
Divine Nature #2: Learn about a Proverbs 31 kind of woman in the scriptures then find two talks on womanhood. The women’s session of conference is a great place to learn about womanhood, though the general sessions have been full of incredible talks on womanhood as well. (Check out Elder Christofferson’s “The Moral Force of Women,” Elder Cook’s “LDS Women Are Incredible!,” or President Hinckley’s “The Women in Our Lives” to see what I’m talking about.) Listen to conference and see if anyone mentions his or her patriarchal blessing, how to prepare to receive one, and what one even is. Make a note to go back through that (or those talks) and review what was said. See this link to get all the requirements for Individual Worth #2.

Knowledge
Knowledge #4 - Select a gospel principle you would like to understand better (for example, faith, repentance, charity, eternal families, or baptismal covenants). Read scriptures and the words of latter-day prophets that relate to the principle. Prepare a five-minute talk on the subject and give the talk in a sacrament meeting, in a Young Women meeting, to your family, or to your class. Record in your journal how you can apply this gospel principle in your life.
Choice & Accountability
Any experience In my opinion, it seems like the majority of conference talks touch on the topics covered in these experiences, so it should be easy to find one to correlate with the experience of your choice!
Good Works
Good Works #4: Teach a lesson about service in family home evening or in another setting. Use pictures, music, examples [from General Conference], or demonstrations in your lesson. You may want to use the manual Teaching, No Greater Call as a resource.
Integrity #7: List the issues, trends, and problems that weaken the family. Read the First Presidency message, “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”, and the section on family in For the Strength of Youth. Then research in the Church magazines the counsel of those whom we sustain as prophets, seers, and revelators. Write in your journal your plan to strengthen your present family and the values and traditions you want to establish with your future family.
Virtue
Any experience as with Choice and Accountability, so many talks touch on the topics discussed in the value of Virtue, so there should be no problem finding one that fits!
10 Hour Value Project:
· Select the value you would like to study as your project and discuss your plans with a parent or leader. Write your project and have a parent or leader approve it.

· Watch General Conference. The General Sessions total 8 hours, with the Women’s Session being 1.5 hours and the Priesthood Session being 2 hours.
· Throughout General Conference, take notes on the teachings about the specific value you’ve chosen. Write down quotes, scripture references, and stories with examples.
· At the close of General Conference, study your notes and write in your journal your overall impressions of General Conference, and how your understanding of the value you chose has increased.
· Share with a parent or leader how your testimony grew through General Conference as you studied your value.

· Go back and make a schedule to study all the talks directly following General Conference. (They’re available by the following Wednesday)
· Create Family Home Evening Lesson Plans based on General Conference Talks and share them with your family and fellow Young Women.
